[ TEXT ] : I wasn’t joking when I called you cute. You looked really cute in that suit. Actually, you look cute in general. You’re a really cute guy. [ TEXT ] : Crap, what am I saying.
[text]: What do you mean by calling me “cute”? I’m not a little kid.
[text]: I don’t know what you’re saying either.
[text]: I didn’t like the suit though. Please don’t make me wear it again.
“It really is,” she confirmed, a small smile gracing her lips. She would have went as far as ruffling his hair at the moment, but her short stature prevented her from doing so. “I hope you take care of your teeth though, or else those sweets will rot them out.”
The teen nodded. “I brush them really well every day.” If his teeth rotted, he wouldn’t be able to eat food, after all, so how could he let that happen? Though his appearance was unhealthy, his hygiene was better than most teenager’s.
“I never said you couldn’t pay for yourself. I figured since I made you put on this penguin suit, I can make up for it by paying for you.” Hayate explained with a quite sigh. A hand ran through her red locks as she continued to talk. “And no, being bored doesn’t usually mean going to a clothing store. It was just the first thing I could think of. If you dislike it so much, go ahead and take it off. It won’t hurt my feelings any.”
It may have been something that the teen would get used to if made to wear it often, but that day was not the day for such an occurrence. “I’ll take it off now,” he decided. “And, uh, I guess you can if you want to, but it isn’t necessary…” He didn’t see the appeal in clothes shopping, but not all people were the same. “I’ll be back in a few minutes.” With that, he waved and made his way to the changing room where his real clothes were.
Hayate stopped pacing around him, having to fight the grin that wanted to appear on her face. “Well, why not? Weren’t you the one complaining about being bored?” She asked, taking a moment to straighten up his jacket. “After this, we can go get some sweets, my treat, okay?”
“That means I can take it off soon, right?” The teen figured that saying it was ‘her treat’ meant that she would be paying for the both of them, though he didn’t know why she would. “And I can pay for myself… I have enough money. And does being bored usually result in going into clothing stores?” If so, he learned something new.
Hayate followed slowly behind him, but stayed close enough for the two to actually have a conversation. “I believe you, you have a really good taste for sweets.” She then giggled softly. “Honestly, I’ve never met a boy that liked sweets as much as you do. It’s interesting, really.”
Well, sweets accounted for about half of his diet, so there was no wonder in the fact that he had good taste when it came to them. “Is it interesting?” the teen asked. He thought that things like concepts and probabilities were interesting, not other people’s taste in food. “I wouldn’t have guessed.”
“It’s not meant to be loose.” Hayate explained as she circled the boy. Her eyes scanned over him quite a few times, just to make sure there weren’t a lot of creases. “Quit complaining, you look cute.”
Cute? If Attai remembered correctly, the last person who ever called him cute had been his mother. Was cute the right word for a person wearing a suit. “It feels weird though. Are you sure it looks okay? Why did you want to see me in this anyway?”
